Nearly 200 minor children live in Adopt-A-Family’s Lake Worth housing communities. In Adopt-A-Family’s continuing efforts to grow services to our younger generation of clients, the Gen2 Education Partnership was launched in 2025 to ensure that all resident children, from preschool through 12th grade, have access to the educational opportunities and supports they need. We want to know that the children in our care are thriving in school, and if they are not, provide the resources and support they need to overcome barriers. This includes:
- Making sure all preschoolers are enrolled in daycare with a rich educational environment, so they become school-ready.
- Facilitating neuropsychological testing when indicated.
- Guiding applications for private schools and magnet programs.
- Assisting with the establishment of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Familiarizing teens and their families with FAFSA, college, trade school options and applications.
The Gen2 initiative is working to mirror the services delivered in Project Grow and the Youth Success Program, so that every child on our campus has an educational advocate.
