Project SAFE

Project SAFE is Palm Beach County’s largest permanent supportive housing program, providing 32 apartments for families emerging from an episode of homelessness. The program serves families with multiple barriers to stability and a head of household living with a disability.

Project SAFE case managers are stationed at the center of the Project SAFE complex, and they provide intensive case management to help residents stabilize, improve their well-being, and pursue self-sufficiency. Program clients have access to all agency support services including job coaching, mental health counseling, scholarships, and educational support for their children. Residents are also referred to partner agencies for services including medical care, legal guidance, therapy, substance use treatment, food assistance, job training, and financial literacy training. Living in a Project SAFE apartment provides a chance for parents and their children to redefine what their home environment can be and to gain the skills to replicate that environment once they exit.
