The Honda Classic Renews Funding Support of Project Grow

We’re thankful for The Honda Classic‘s continued investment in Adopt-A-Family’s Project Grow! On June 14th, we welcomed Executive Director Ken Kennerly and the Honda Classic Cares team for a behind-the-scenes tour of all three summer camp classrooms. The morning also included a check presentation with our K-1st grade students also taking part!

In 2017, The Honda Classic has made a philanthropic impact of $3.6 million to benefit charitable causes in South Florida.

“While we endeavor each year to provide Palm Beach County with a premier professional golf tournament experience, the ultimate goal is to positively impact youth in need and create a brighter future for our community. We understand a place like Adopt-A-Family’s Project Grow is often the highlight of these kids’ day. To make an impact on shaping the future of our community’s youth is priceless and something we hold very near and dear to our hearts at The Honda Classic.” – Ken Kennerly, Executive Director, The Honda Classic.

Project Grow is an afterschool and out-of-school program which fosters a stable and enriching academic environment for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program is customized to meet the unique challenges faced by 60 formerly homeless and impoverished students in the Palm Beach County community of Lake Worth. The Honda Classic’s grant supports Project Grow’s enriching activities and offerings that include tutoring, academic advising, group and individual counseling, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) lessons, art, recreation, and life-enriching field trips.
