2021 Better Ball Invitational
After two years of being apart, Adopt-A-Family’s Ninth Annual Better Ball Invitational made a triumphant return to Banyan Cay Resort & Golf in West Palm Beach on May 7.
Thanks to our players and event sponsors, this year’s Better Ball Invitational event raised over $200,000 – our most successful tournament to date.
The event was a much-needed return to normalcy as last year’s event was canceled due to the pandemic. It certainly felt like “old” times as participants gathered to enjoy a beautiful day of golf, picturesque views, and delightful fare. In all, twenty-four foursomes played in a better ball of the twosome format, and Alan Somerstein & Eric Boritz took first place.
This Better Ball tournament would not have been possible without the hard work of our golf committee: Frank Bresnan, Sean Bresnan, Joe Carron, Tom Frankel, Ned Grace, Joe LaRocca, Jr., Gary Pohrer, and Jeff Preston.
We congratulate all the winners and thank all the sponsors. We look forward to next year’s 10th Annual Better Ball Invitational!

2020 Better Ball Invitational
Each spring, we begin preparing for our Annual Better Ball Invitational, and 2020 was no exception. Like so many events worldwide, our golf tournament did not take place this spring due to the coronavirus outbreak.
We know how much you look forward to this tournament and appreciate all you do each year to make it a success. As an agency, we also look forward to it; not only because of the funds raised but because we get to spend time with such an amazing and energetic group of Adopt-A-Family supporters.
On behalf of our board, clients, and staff, thank you for your understanding, trust, and continued support. We are grateful for your involvement year after year. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of families in need. To those of you who have contributed despite the cancellation, thank you so much. This is a tremendous support to our agency’s ability to respond to the rising need in our community.
If you are interested in learning how you can help Adopt-A-Family during these uncertain times, please contact Layren Calvo at (561) 253-1361 X1120 or lcalvo@aafpbc.org
We hope that you and your family remain safe and healthy and thank you again for supporting our mission.
2019 Tournament Recap
On May 3, Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches, Inc. held its Eighth Annual Better Ball Invitational at Banyan Cay Resort & Golf in West Palm Beach. 96 players enjoyed an afternoon of lunch, picturesque golf views, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and an award ceremony to wrap up the festivities. The tournament was filled with comradery and commitment and raised over $150,000 in support of the agency’s core programs.
The Golf Committee went above and beyond to ensure the event’s success, and we are grateful for their dedication and support. Special thanks to each player, our generous sponsors, and the fantastic team at Banyan Cay who made this event possible, despite the unpredictable FL weather.
Congratulations to the tournament committee – Frank Bresnan, Sean Bresnan, Joe Carron, Tom Frankel, Ned Grace, Joe LaRocca Jr., Gary Pohrer, Jeff Preston, and CEO Matt Constantine. Because of your efforts, Palm Beach County families will have support on their journey to self-sufficiency
